The Sin Bin was announced as a new and exciting sports entertainment show at TV3’s Autumn launch last week. The Live show will be hosted by ‘Off The Ball’s’ Joe Molloy and hilarious Irish comedian Andrew Maxwell.
The first show will be broadcast live this Thursday at 10pm and every consecutive Thursday for the duration of the Rugby World Cup.
Speaking about the upcoming show, presenter Joe Molloy said: “I can’t wait for the series and the tournament itself to get going. There’s always huge hype around a World Cup and particularly this year with everyone so eerily confident in our chances of doing well. I’m massively excited to be doing live TV, Andrew is a mad genius and we’ve got some brilliant guests lined up over the next 6 weeks too.”
The show will focus on every funny, contentious, or off the ball moment of the Rugby World Cup and will be ripped apart to be thrown into the half-hour comedy mix.
As far as guests are concerned, some of the biggest names in rugby will be joining the guys in studio, as well as comedians and actors. Former Ireland hooker Keith Wood and UK comedian Mark Watson are the special guests on tomorrow night’s show.
Former Rugby Union player Brian Moore will join Bressie, Stephen Ferris and Tommy O’Donnell as the other guests to appear on the show in the coming weeks.
Keith Wood, who will be joining Molloy and Maxwell in the first episode, said: “What really excites me about going on The Sin Bin is that it isn’t just teams and tactics, I’m looking forward to joining in with the banter and looking at Rugby World Cup 2015 from a totally different angle.”
The show will sample all the hype and exhilaration as will be witnessed in the pubs and at the games with their ‘comedy VT hit squad’. Each show will also feature a competition whereby the winner gets to travel to a RWC match to start the coin toss process. How cool is that?
However, that’s not the last from Joe Molloy as he returns with his ‘Off The Ball‘ mates to transform the brand into a prime time television format.
Each hour long episode of Off The Ball Sporting Heroes is dedicated to a member of the team interviewing their sporting hero. Ger Gilroy talks to Roy Keane, Colm Parkinson gets close to Jim McGuinness, while Joe Molloy spends time with Padraig Harrington.
Don’t miss The Sin Bin Live, which starts at 10pm this Thursday the 10th of September.
