TV3 today launched their autumn schedule for 2014 and in the new year is a major new soap, 30 new shows and array of new faces will see the station build on from the success of recent years.
The fresh and vibrant schedule was announced in a special presentation from Dublin’s Mansion House which all the big faces from TV3 as well as invited guests and members of the press were in attendance.
TV3 and its partner station, 3e,will deliver a a diverse range of new programming and content across a number of genres including entertainment, sport, news and factual.
Over 50% of TV3’s new schedule will be home produced with over 2500 hours of this content. The major highlights at today’s event was the first new soap on Irish Television set to air in 2015, ‘Red Rock’, the eagerly awaited political drama, ‘The Guarantee’, Radio Host Ray Foley presenting the ultimate man versus machine game show, ‘The Algorithm’ and many more.
Sports fans will be treated to another action packed schedule with the biggest TV event in 2015 – The Rugby World Cup presented by Matt Cooper as well as the exclusive rights to the UEFA Champions league and Europa League. However, one of the biggest announcements from today’s launch was the news that 3e have been given exclusive free to air broadcast rights for UFC. That means UFC fans will be able to enjoy Conor McGregor and many more in the Octagon in 2015.
Popular showbiz and fashion show, Xposé welcomes a new male member to their team. Peter O’Riordan, formally of TMZ, will take his place on Ireland’s Number 1 showbiz programme. Also, Lucy Kennedy nabbed her dream job as the new face of ‘Blind Date’, based on the globally successful and renowned format of ‘The Dating Game‘.
In the news front, Anton Savage from Ireland Am will move into his new role as presenter of his own prime-time show called ‘Get the numbers Write’. However, the rest of the Ireland AM team, Sinead, Mark, Anna, Aidan and Alan will stay put be in the cosy surroundings of the brand new TV3 Sony HD Studio.
TV3’s major pull this year is their ability to attract a diverse range of people. The upcoming year looks stronger than ever with the likes of Jason Byrne, David McWilliams, Ray Foley, Brian Dowling and the returning Vincent Browne all bringing their own unique talents to the station.
TV3 are promising to live up to its mantra of ‘We entertain’ through a raft of new and returning shows. Not only will TV3 entertain into 2015 and beyond, but it will deliver to audiences and advertisers with its most ambitious and engaging schedule to date.
