Top motor sports journalists

By Barbara Ross

The British Grand Prix is taking place today, Friday June 12 and we’ve gone car mad here in the MediaHQ office. From talking about the expense of insurance to reliving our driving tests, we’re really taking motoring in our stride.

The Grand Prix is a race in the calendar of the FIA Formula One World Championship, held at the Silverstone Circuit near the village of Silverstone in Northamptonshire, England.
And in its honour, we’ve compiled a list of our favourite motor sports journalists.

Darren Liggett

Darren Liggett is the motoring editor for the Irish Sun. Darren has worked in the newspaper industry for 20 years, 13 years of them at the Daily Mirror in Belfast. Cars are his passion and while with the Daily Mirror, he wrote and designed his own motoring column.

Campbell Spray

Campbell Spray is the Motoring Editor of the Sunday Independent. He has worked with the Sunday Independent since 1984 where he has held the position of operation editor and motoring editor, before becoming executive editor in 2012.

Dean Slavnich

Dean is the Editor in Chief at UKi Media. A skilled car journalist, he specialises in sustainable transport, engine technology, electric and hybrid vehicles, automotive engineering and design.

Peter Campbell

Peter has been the Motor Industry Correspondent at the Financial Times for over 3 years. He writes about industry news, the rise of electric cars and the future of the car world.

Quentin Wilson

Motoring journalist, broadcaster and TV presenter. Quentin is also a co-partner in, a campaign which has saved the UK £100 billion in fuel duty taxes for 37 million drivers.
