South Dublin shops sells last night’s winning €5.7 million Lotto Jackpot ticket!

Lucky Dublin ticketholder becomes 10th Lotto jackpot winner of 2018

A south Dublin community was buzzing with excitement today as news spread that a local shop sold last night’s mega €5.7 million winning Lotto Jackpot ticket.

The National Lottery confirmed that the shop that sold the golden ticket is the Spar Express on Rathfarnham Road in Dublin 14.

Staff were overjoyed at news of their life changing win.

“We simply can’t believe it! This is our first big Lotto win and staff and customers are buzzing with excitement,” shop owner, Ken O’Connor, said. “We are on a lucky run as we recently sold a Scratch Card that won a customer €25,000. But this is amazing, we are hoping it is somebody local but we are a busy shop with a lot of passing traffic so we don’t know.”

A National Lottery spokesperson appealed to all its Dublin players to check their tickets to see if they are holders of this golden ticket.

The winning numbers are: 1, 15, 22, 27, 31, 34 and bonus number 42.

This is the tenth Lotto jackpot win of 2018 and the first since the Lotto Plus game enhancements were introduced on 1st September. So far this year, in excess of €50 million has been paid out in Lotto jackpot prizes alone. Since the introduction of the new Lotto Plus game enhancements last month, an incredible 848,000 Lotto players throughout the country have won prizes. Last night’s Lotto draws alone produced over 72,000 winners.

Nearly 30 cent in every €1 spent on all National Lottery games go back to Good Causes in the areas of sport, youth, health, community, arts, heritage and the Irish language. In total more than €5.3 Billion has been raised for Good Causes since the National Lottery was established 30 years ago.
