Simon Coveney the big mover to be the next Fine Gael Leader

February 17, 2017, 16:21

Cork South Central TD now 5/2 from 3/1

Simon Coveney attracted a lot of support all day Friday and as a result is now 5/2 from 3/1 to be the next leader of Fine Gael when Enda Kenny finally calls time on his leadership of the party.

Leo Varadkar has drifted out to 3/10 from 1/4 but is still the overwhelming favourite to succeed the Mayo man.

Although Paschal Donohoe has ruled himself out of the contest, his price has shortened into 12/1 from 25/1.

Leon Blanche, Head of Communications for BoyleSports commented “All the money on Friday has been for Simon Coveney to be the next leader of Fine Gael. We are sure there will be plenty of support for different candidates in the coming days and weeks.”

He added “Leo Varadkar has seen his price drift out to 3/10 as a result of the support for his cabinet colleague.”
