Fred Slashed To be Name Of Third Royal Baby

September 13, 2017, 16:30

There has been some movement in the Name of the Third Royal Baby market already, as punters rush to get behind their favourite name for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s expectant little one.

Alice and Victoria were early joint 8/1 favourites, but have since been eased out to 10/1 alongside Arthur in a three way tie for favouritism.

However the biggest move in the betting since the announcement that Kate and William were expecting their third child is the boy’s name Fred. Fredrick was the Prince of Wales in 107-1751, but as Kate and William are more modern royality it is thought they may simply go with Fred.

Punters have been keen on the name Fred, backing it from 25/1 to its current 14/1 price.

Aoife Heffron, Spokeswoman for BoyleSports commented “Alice, Arthur and Victoria are at the head of the betting at 10/1 each to be the moniker of the third Royal Baby, with Arthur seeing a recent burst in support and both Alice and Victoria remaining popular choices.”

She added “Fred is however the best backed name at present having been backed in to 14/1 from 25/1 on Wednesday. It now poses a liability in the book, leaving us hoping that Kate and William are expecting a girl, although the support for the possible name continues to leave us stumped as to what the sex of the baby could be as it is split between boys and girls names.”
