Media HQ’s press release distribution hub and well-rounded, target media list system makes the perfect addition to any company’s PR strategy (Basically we do the ‘boring work’ so you don’t have to!).

Since 2009, we’ve helped share more than 114,038 press releases, one of those being daa’s announcement of a new €320 million runway.

The story has garnered much media attention since its release with RTE News, Newstalk and the Irish Times covering the news. With that in mind, Media HQ have decided to shine a PR spotlight on our client and their popular press release.

Dublin Airport Authority’s new project, which seeks to significantly improve Ireland’s connectivity, is expected to commence next year and be completed by 2020.

The new 3,110 metre runway will be built 1.6km to the north of the pre-existing runway and is expected to create some 1,200 new jobs.

The daa, which operates both Cork and Dublin airports, originally secured planning permission for the new runway back in 2007 but was put on hold after the financial crash.

However the airport bounced back in 2015, seeing a massive 15% increase in passenger numbers.

The daa’s record streak of 25 million passengers last year looks likely to continue with strong growth expected for 2016.

Speaking of the announcement, Fáilte Ireland Chairperson Michael said: “Dublin airport is a key gateway for Irish tourism and, if we are to enjoy sustained and long-term growth in visitor numbers, we need to plan also for a sustained growth in access.”

Dublin Airport was the second fastest growing airport in Europe in 2015, growing at three times the European average.
