The Dublin/New York-based company ‘NewsWhip‘ has impressive clients like Buzzfeed, Associated Press, Bloomberg, and the Daily Mail. It tracks content that has been posted on social media, allowing media companies such as Buzzfeed to find it, just before it becomes viral.
The small company has received more than €1.5m in funding from a number of investors, and now plans to increase the workforce to 30 in order to improve its research and development team.
NewsWhip was founded in 2011 by Paul Quigley and Andrew Mullaney, with the help of AIB and Enterprise Ireland. It has also been funded by a number of American backers, including 500 Startups (Silicon Valley), Social Starts (New York), and Matter (San Francisco).
