In this episode we look at public service broadcasting.

In studio Jack chats to two of the most influential media journalists in the country, Laura Slattery of The Irish Times and Colette Sexton of The Sunday Business Post.

The three discuss Noel Curran’s legacy as Director General of RTE and how he brought the broadcaster through one of the most challenging times in media history.

We play clips from his final talk as DG at FuJo in Dublin City University and look at the high and low points of his career.

We examine the issues RTE still face such as gender inequality, ethnic diversity and cracking digital. We question are audiences sick of the ‘male and pale’ dominance at RTE? And Is the licence fee funding model sustainable?

We also look at what’s next for RTE as new Director General, Dee Forbes, takes the wheel.
