The Evening Echo is to become a Morning Newspaper

The Evening Echo is to become a morning newspaper from March 3 and will be called The Echo.

Sinéad Hussey has been appointed as RTÉ’s North East Correspondent

RTÉ News has announced the appointment of Sinéad Hussey as their new North East Correspondent. Sinéad was appointed following a recent competition.

Sinéad Hussey has worked as a multimedia journalist in RTÉ since 2011, reporting across television, radio and online news including RTÉ’s Six One News, Nine O’Clock News and Morning Ireland programmes.

Beat 102-103 and iRadio have announced new 2019 Schedules

Beat 102-103 has a new presenter line-up, including the return of Emma Nolan from iRadio, and a new jingle package from ReelWorld.

iRadio is also making some changes to its on-air schedule for 2019, with new presenters on mornings, drivetime, and evening programmes.

RTÉ correspondent Damien Tiernan to leave under exit scheme

RTÉ’s south-east correspondent Damien Tiernan has announced he is leaving the station after more than 20 years. Mr Tiernan was the second-youngest correspondent ever appointed at the broadcaster at the age of just 26.

Christmas FM raises over €400k for Temple Street Children’s Hospital

The hugely popular festive radio station Christmas FM has raised over €400,000 for Temple Street Children’s Hospital, which will be used to help to over 1,000 sick children.

Ian Wilson has retired from RTÉ

RTÉ producer, Ian Wilson, who initiated the ‘Fanning Sessions’, ‘Lark in the Park’, and ‘Lark by the Lee’ has retired from RTÉ this month. Ian most recently produced RTÉ’s Countrywide and was an IMRO Radio Hall of Fame Inductee in 2018.

Peter Bodkin has moved from Fora.ie to TheJournal.ie.

After nearly three years as editor of Fora.ie, Peter has taken up a new role as special projects and investigations editor with TheJournal.ie.

Larry Gogan to step down from 2FM

Legendary 2FM DJ Larry Gogan will be stepping down from the station at the end of January. Larry is set to move to RTÉ Gold having spent 40 years with 2FM.

Mark Coughlan has returned to RTÉ

Mark Coughlan is back reporting for RTÉ’s Prime Time, having spent two years in the Middle East working with Al Jazeera English.

Today FM and Newstalk open new studio in Cork

Today FM and Newstalk have announced the opening of a new studio in Cork. The studio will be based at Republic of Work, a business campus in the city.
