Instagram is a firm favourite among many audiences, PR pros need to know how to use the social media app for better PR results.

Instagram was created by Kevin Systrom and Mike Krieger, and launched in October 2010 as a free mobile app.Instagram has a neutral gender-bias format, 68% of Instagram users are female while 32% are male. Instagram now has 600 million monthly active users, a 100 million user jump in the last six months.Instagram has been proven to attract the younger generation with 90% of the 150 million users under the age of 35.

Here are a few ways you can promote your business through your instagram  account:

1. Set up a business account with your business name

Create an account using your business name(a reasonable one)and upload pictures daily/weekly.

2. Promote your account

You can use other social media to let people know that your account exists such as; writing your instagram account name bio/profile on facebook and  twitter.

3. Use hashtags

Using hashtags on your pictures is a great way of promoting your instagram account and your business because when people search for the tag,you pictures will come up giving them an idea of your business.

4. Follow various business users

Following other business accounts can help you get more recognitions and more followers because you can contact the business if it is an already grown one to help promote your account.
