Oh Summer, school’s out, 99s galore, and the country seems to be on a go-slow.
Not the media though, it’s a time for re-invention, experimentation and new additions. Over the past few days we have seen a number of new appointments and exciting new media opportunities.
It was recently announced that Elaine Prendeville will be joining The Sunday Business Post as magazine editor. Elaine previously was editor of VIP magazine and Irish Tatler as well as being Head of Creative Communications for Harmonia.
Fiona Ness vacated the editorial role at the Sunday Business Post earlier this year.
Catherine Cleary‘s new food podcast ‘All You Can Eat’ with The Irish Times began last week. Catherine has been writing about food for a decade now and the podcast is the perfect accompaniment to her weekly restaurant column, also with the Times.
Another new podcast that kicked-off last week is The GAA Hour. The podcast is part of Joe.ie and is hosted by Colm Parkinson, GAA editor with SportsJoe.ie. The ‘GAA Hour’ is a twice weekly podcast which will air Monday’s and Thursday’s at 5pm.
Bernice Harrison has vacated her position as TV critic with The Irish Times. She will now write the ‘Design Moments’ column.
From food to football we are enjoying these two new podcasts and although we are sad to see Bernice leaving the TV critique the Design Moments column is a great addition to the Times.
