As well as recognising great PR pros, here at MediaHQ.com, we also like to show appreciation for those who are exceptionally skilled in the blogging department.
Blogging is undoubtedly the new content frontier and we know how important it is for people in the PR game.
In the spirit of all things ‘blog’ we’re looking at science blogger Dr. Niamh Lavelle this week, to see what she’s getting right.
Naomi set up the blog ‘Science Wows’ in 2011 and it has grown from strength to strength ever since.
No stranger to the laboratory herself Naomi has a PhD in molecular biology from NUI Galway.
Naomi believed in science communication and her blog encompasses this as it is primarily used for education purposes.
The blog is fun, interesting and engaging. It promotes a hands on rather than learning method of science education.
Naomi’s blog incorporates a wide variety of science information ranging from science writing to practical skills.
She has achieved a great energy within her blog by keeping all her posts upbeat and brief, a skill which can be applied to any blog, no matter what the genre.
‘Science Wows’ won best Special Interest Blog Award at the 2015 IPB Awards.
Here MediaHQ.com, we think there’s a lot to be learned from Naomi’s blogging skills.
