Facebook decided to award the brands that have the best social media strategy on the social network site.
And the winner is Oreo!
The Oreo facebook page already had an advantage, as it is an extremely well known brand, however Facebook only chose brands that used mostly unpaid advertising on the site.
What caught the judges attention, was the unusual advertising technique. It posted 100 ads exclusively to its Facebook page in 100 days for its 100th birthday.
In those 100 days, Oreo’s likes increased by 1 million, and its interactions went up by almost 200%.
The Facebook page mixed current events with Oreos to create funny images. These images were clever, witty and made Facebook users laugh all of which leads to engagement and interaction.
Other brands chosen by Facebook were Nike UK, AT&T, Lays and Heineken.
