BAI Sponsorship Allows for Irish Inclusion in Reuters Institute Digital News Report

Sponsorship from the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland (BAI) has allowed for Ireland’s first inclusion in the Reuters Institute Digital News Report as part of its work on media plurality in Ireland. After the results are published tomorrow the BAI will issue a statement highlighting some of the report’s findings and will also include details on how news is accessed in Ireland.

The research was compiled through an online questionnaire. The total sample size for Ireland was 1,501 adults accessing news online once a month or more.

The data relating to Ireland has also been the subject of a more detailed and specific digital news report which will be launched on Tuesday, 23rd June. Commissioned by the BAI and undertaken by DCU’s Institute for Future Media and Journalism, the research will examine the use of accessing news stories on various platforms and devices. This conference will take place on June 23rd in DCU.
