The average Facebook user is connected to 80 pages so content is a major factor that separates your organisation from the rest. Developing a Facebook content strategy is important in order to make an impact, you can’t simply post whatever you want, whenever you want if you want to reach the masses and boost you business.

Here are the top tips for a successful Facebook content strategy.

1. Establish Goals; ask your self what you want out of this Facebook page, to attract new customers? to keep existing customers happy? Different goals need different approaches. Its also important to establish goals with regards to likes and shares, so you can see where you are falling short or exceeding your expectations.

2. Determine Frequency; Most Facebook users want at least one post a day, others want more and some can be turned off by to many posts. The most important thing is to be consistent. Facebook users will find it strange if there are no posts for a few days and then randomly 10 in one day. The top 10 Facebook pages post 1.7 times a day, but they already have a huge following, whereas you are looking to increase yours so try to post more frequently then that.

3. Set Patterns; having set patterns will keep users engaged and will also attract new followers. Designate a day a week where you have a re-occurring topic, lots of successful pages a day where they run a competition or promotion, for example clothing site Boohoo.com have ‘Onesie Wednesday’ where they give a follower a free onesie. These patterns keep users entertained and attract new fans while promoting your business at the same time.

These simple approaches will result in an easier Facebook strategy and a much more successful one!
